Description | Salary £12.60 per Hour | Casual hours per week | Lancaster University International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship About the Role The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Casual Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties at various buildings across Lancaster University campus. A flexible approach to work is required, as the successful candidate would be required to cover sickness, holidays or provide support to meet additional service demands. Providing your own transport is an advantage, but not essential. The Facilities Management team is contracted to carry out cleaning services at Lancaster University. In addition, Lancaster University offers a wide range of services to support students, staff, and visitors. Keeping these buildings clean is essential to everyone who use these facilities. As a cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the campus facilities. Key Responsibilities: Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and toilet cleaning. Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas. Conduct deep cleaning of bedrooms, including thorough cleaning of floors, furniture, and fixtures. Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor. Follow all health and safety regulations. Requirements: Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. High standards of cleaning are expected and so prior experience is desirable; however full training and ongoing support will be provided.
