Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dorset Musculoskeletal (MSK) Orthopaedic Interface Service, for a dynamic and passionate clinician to join our Peripheral MSK team. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience, 3 of which within the musculoskeletal speciality. You will be supported by the Service lead and current ACP team, to develop your clinical, leadership, educational and research capabilities, and in this way contribute to evolving developments within the service. A probationary training period may be considered depending on your level of knowledge and experience. This is a part-time post. The post holder may be required to workflexibly to meet the needs of the service. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Main duties of the job As an MSK Practitioner within the Dorset MSK Service, you will undertake independent, comprehensive assessments which will involve complex clinical decision making to plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing healthcare needs and varying degrees of clinical risk. You will also be responsible for ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis, and advanced decision-making skills. There is a strong drive for quality improvement across the service and for the development and delivery of a robust clinical governance agenda. Therefore, you will support the service leads and ACP team to monitor and improve standards within the service through involvement in supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education. The team is based over many sites in Dorset, and travel across the county to different sites on a regular basis needs to be assumed. Given the part time nature of the role and that of others in the service and wider system, flexibility of working pattern is required, and this will need to be considered alongside other demands in a working portfolio.
