About the role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Design Assurance Analyst to join the Future Energy team on a 9-month secondment!
As a Senior Design Assurance Analyst you'll provide design assurance support to ensure that the engineering design, construction and commissioning of new and replacement assets and connections associated to biomethane and other unconventional gas sources are conducted in accordance with relevant policy, procedures and standards. You'll provide assurance that assets built by third parties and adopted by Cadent are fit for purpose & ensure compliance with legislation and company safety and engineering policies and procedures and to ensure that adequate records are recorded and retained.
You'll work proactively to minimise safety, operational and reputational risk to the Cadent network and brand and identify and escalate any discrepancies to the management teams across all stakeholder groups.
Part of the role will require you to review and apply analysis of performance and quality MI systems feedback. Whilst complying with the implementation of process/procedure updates in line with business developments, including the processing and review of deviation requests.
What you'll get to work on:
* Provide design assurance oversight that ensures that the engineering design, construction and commissioning of new and replacement assets and connections associated to biomethane and other unconventional gas sources are conducted in accordance with relevant policy, procedures and standards.
* Provide assurance that assets built by third parties and adopted by Cadent are fit for purpose for the connection of biomethane, unconventional gas sources and 7bar pipelines for CNG Fuelling Stations and Power Generation connections.
* Ensure compliance with legislation and company safety and engineering policies and procedures and to ensure that adequate records are recorded and retained.
* Work proactively to minimise safety, operational and reputational risk to the Cadent network and brand.
* Work closely with the operational Networks, Engineering, Energy Operations and Capital Delivery teams to deliver future energy connections.
Who are we looking for:
* Recognised engineering or technical qualification, ideally degree level but not essential if complemented by relevant experience.
* A knowledge of Cadent's Management of Change processes and understanding design discipline requirements.
* Some knowledge of practices for compliance with gas industry safety and engineering policies, procedures and standards, particularly for managing modifications to assets.
* Some knowledge of functional safety and hazard studies.
* Is able to show drive and initiative, good interpersonal and organisational skills - understanding the importance of working as part of a team.
* Some knowledge of UK gas distribution network (GDN) design, specification and engineering standards.
