Job Title: Senior Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineer
Salary: £52,380 - £65,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Peterborough / Desford

About PC&S
The Caterpillar Product Compliance & Support team (PC&S) focuses on detecting global development of product regulations, understanding the scope of impact to Caterpillar products, authoring process guidance for demonstrating compliance, and ensuring products are compliant prior to market availability.
The Opportunity
This opportunity supports the Caterpillar Product Compliance & Support – Substance Compliance team in managing product compliance risk and ensuring compliance with applicable product regulatory requirements for intended markets, focusing on the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restrictions of Hazardous Substance (RoHS).
What You Will Do
* Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements specific to WEEE and RoHS, and their application to Caterpillar products.
* Utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information for product certification and compliance, including managing contracts and fee payments with third-party electrical waste take-back in compliance with WEEE.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.
* Collaborate with product groups, design control, and operations to ensure the development, validation, and production of products that meet applicable regulatory requirements.
* Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
What You Have:
* Degree Requirement: Engineering, Material Sciences, or equivalent professional experience.
* Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools; ability to synthesize data from various stakeholders objectively.
* Risk Management: Knowledge of processes and techniques for assessing and controlling organizational risk exposure.
* Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high precision.
* Collaborating: Ability to work constructively with diverse individuals and groups.
* Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
Top Candidates will demonstrate some of the following skills and experiences:
* Experience in developing technical reports demonstrating product capability or compliance.
* Strong technical skills with foundational engineering knowledge.
* Self-directed and capable of handling multiple tasks.
* Strong commitment to product compliance with excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of 6 Sigma and/or Lean methodologies.

We operate a hybrid working week consisting of three days in the office and two from home.
