Warehouse Team Leader – Salary £27,000-29,000 – Bolton
My client, an international manufacturer based in Bolton, is seeking an enthusiastic Warehouse Team
Leader for their operation.
They’re looking for someone who has experience with Hand-held scanner systems and has worked in a
Team Leader position in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
Metal industry experience, FLT counterbalance and any Six Sigma/LEAN/5s experience is a big bonus.
Operational Duties
● Coaching, Training and development of employees along with the senior team leader.
● Conducting team based accident/incident investigations as and when they arise. Ensuring
safe working practices are adhered to and maintaining a safe working environment at all
times
● Support the development and oversight of the continuous improvement process
● Managing your team to monitor and improve working methods to increase productivity
● and/or safety.
● Plan and organise Warehouse functions to be carried out in a timely and effective manner.
Including planning of manning and sawing activities.
● Drive safety first approach and culture of feedback and improvement
● Adhere to QHSE policies, procedures, training, culture, compliance, audits investigation/root
cause analysis, follow up and continuous improvement
● Ensure equipment, PPE and Machinery is suitable and safe
● Collaborate with QHSE to identify and define suitable/sufficient risk assessments and safe
systems of work
● Work with the senior warehouse team leader to ensure communications is executed in line with
company strategy including tool box talks, stop to fix, start of shift briefs, weekly/quarterly
comms
● Optimising the manpower in your area to maintain capacity, value added activity is saw cutting.
● Support the senior warehouse team leader in monitoring KPIs and communicating these with
the wider team
● Ensure timely and accurate communication with all relevant departments on any factors which
will impact on delivery dates, commitments to customers and identify opportunities to improve
● Implement 5s culture as best practice and ensure these standards are adhered to daily
What you need
● Good secondary education or time served equivalent
● Six Sigma/LEAN/5s experience – preferred
● FLT Counterbalance, Side loader, Overhead Crane & Band Saw – experience in any of these
● areas is preferred
● Familiar with hand held scanners
● Previous experience in metal industry – preferred
● Having worked in a team leader role, preferably in the manufacturing environment
● People management skills
