We are actively looking for a committed, proactive Centre Manager who can create a safe, fun environment for staff and patrons. It will be your responsibility to promote and grow the business, hire and train staff and ensure that patrons are receiving an excellent service. You will manage the Centre and its staff, supporting all events and fundraising for the registered charity.
The Centre Manager takes responsibility for the financial success of the establishment. They have a range of duties, including administrative, leadership, and practical tasks. Their main function is to ensure that they run the Centre efficiently and that the customer has the best possible experience. They are also responsible for the success and development of their staff.
To excel as a Centre Manager, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving ability. You need to be available to work evenings and weekends.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Leading a small team by example, setting rotas, creating a positive work environment for staff, and encouraging their development.
2. Monitoring inventory and ordering of stock.
3. Creating a welcoming environment for customers, dealing with customer feedback, and providing adequate solutions to customer complaints.
4. Overseeing the cleanliness of the establishment and garden area and paying attention to possible health hazards and regulation violations.
5. Serving customers to fulfill their requests, checking membership status to ensure correct prices are charged and payments taken.
6. Encouraging new member applications by non-members and requesting membership renewals annually.
7. Responding to requests for hall bookings and updating diary with any new/amended bookings.
8. Checking facilities after use to ensure they are left clean and tidy.
9. Checking patio, car park, and putting rubbish in the bins.
10. Completing timesheets daily for the hours worked.
11. Completing a checklist of tasks to ensure all items are covered regularly.
12. Reporting any defects in equipment to the Committee.
Essential Skills
1. Previous management experience.
2. Good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
3. Numerate and literate.
4. Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
5. Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
6. Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desirable Skills
1. UK driving license.
2. Good computer, problem-solving, and administrative skills.
3. High level of attention to detail.
