We are currently recruiting for an Engineer to join our engineering department working 12 hour shifts 6am - 6pm rotating days and alternate weekends.
Main Responsibilities
1. Apply skill set to gain competence to work on any machine at the Holbrook & Grange site and be capable of diagnosing the faults & causes of a wide range of equipment.
2. Carry out routine planned maintenance on Holbrook & Grange sites to include mechanical, electrical, electronic and production equipment working to a planned maintenance schedule.
3. Learn how to maintain and update all maintenance and equipment documentation, which will include PC based systems, accurately and on time.
4. Understand the skills necessary to be able to complete tooling changes and adjustments to machines, with the assistance of the appropriate Operator/ Maintenance Engineer.
5. Demonstrate an appreciation of Electrical Systems sufficient to carry out fault diagnosis for electrical problems to a limited level.
6. Assist technical staff and be involved with development and continuous improvement work whilst working under direction.
7. Participate in project work on new equipment and plant as necessary.
8. Investigate and correct processing problems with the assistance of fellow engineers and/or operating personnel, and other specialist personnel, as necessary.
9. Assist in root cause analysis giving information about work completed and remedial actions to prevent reactive situations occurring on equipment.
10. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Company safety procedures and Health and Safety legislation.
11. Deliver fabricated parts or needed components when required.
12. Demonstrate the writing and updating of risk assessments and SOP’s.
13. Understand how to rebuild spare assemblies to ensure critical spares are available at all times for focused areas and correctly book out spare parts from the engineering stores.
14. Keep the working areas clean and tidy, cleaning up after each maintenance operation.
15. Ensure that all equipment is safe, maintained and used correctly.
16. Understand and comply with all local policies and procedures.
17. Attend specific training/college courses and complete course work on time and to the required standard if applicable.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience of working within a high volume FMCG / manufacturing environment.
2. Isolation and lock off processes.
3. Understanding of advanced high-speed machinery.
4. Competency in diagnostic fault finding.
5. Time Served apprenticeship in engineering discipline.
6. ONC / HNC / BTEC in Engineering or equivalent (Level 3).
7. NVQ Level 2 Engineering.
8. Minimum of 4 GCSEs (including Maths, English, Science) at Grade C or above.
9. Awareness of health and safety considerations.
10. Demonstrate a practical understanding of repairs and maintenance work.
11. An appreciation of PLC control systems & Automation.
12. 4 Axis & 6 Axis Robotics.
13. Servo motors, 24v Sensors, Thermocouples.
14. Diagnostic and fault finding skills.
15. Strong awareness of Health & Safety legislation.
16. Well Organised, good at planning and can meet deadlines.
17. Able to work alone and uses own initiative.
