Summary Provides respiratory care to patients in varying states of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the respiratory plan of care. Makes knowledgeable assessments of outpatients in clinic, testing, pulmonary rehab, and inpatient consults as needed. Performs pulmonary therapy care according to established policy and procedure in assigned areas including pulmonary function testing (PFT), pulmonary rehab, and respiratory patient education. The Respiratory Therapist functions as an essential member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care, instruction, and education. Minimum Education Graduate of an Associate Degree Level CoARC accredited educational program for Respiratory Therapy. Minimum Work Experience 2 Years Prior experience. Required Licenses/Certifications Registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Current VT State license. BLS Certification through American Heart Association. ACLS preferred or plan to acquire within one (1) year. CPFT preferred or plan to acquire within twoe (2) year. Certified Asthma Educator preferred or plan to acquire within two (2) years. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of respiratory care assessment and mechanical ventilation management. Working Knowledge of Respiratory Equipment Able to provide expert level of direct clinical care. Ability to apply critical thinking to all aspects of patient care. Conflict resolution skills. Completion of clinical competencies and other required competencies. Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills. Pay Range: $27.05 - $39.98 PM24
