How you'll contribute to Accurx as a Lead Product Designer...
As a Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for the outcomes, quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Product Design within one of our product Pods.
At Accurx, Product is organised into three Pods, which are groups of cross-functional product teams brought together based on the product capabilities they manage. Within a Pod, there are typically three Product Designers, comprising a mix of mid-level and senior designers, who are embedded as members of the Pod’s cross-functional teams.
You will collaborate closely with the Group Product Manager and a Technical Leader as a trio of leads, working in alignment to ensure the Pod and its teams achieve their goals and objectives.
You will play an active role in identifying and understanding the problems we tackle and shaping the solutions we create, so that ultimately, everyone involved in a patient’s care – including the patient – can communicate effortlessly with one another.
Your day to day tasks, should you choose to accept this mission...
* Formally manage the product designers who work in your Pod and take responsibility for them achieving their team’s goals and delivering design output inline with the high standards our users deserve.
* Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and refine a clear, evolving vision for the future of your product area, enabling you to guide the designers in your Pod towards achieving it.
* Leverage your strong expertise in user-centred design principles, user experience design, interaction design and product strategy to provide input and guidance, helping achieve high-quality design updates.
* Help the designers in your Pod develop their work from goals, through concepts, to interfaces and deliverables. Ensuring alignment in the chosen direction between all layers of the business.
* Champion a system-first approach to designing experiences and interfaces. Making time and resources available within your Pod for maintaining and updating the system.
* Participate in improving collaboration, and ways of working across your Pod. So that all relevant disciplines can contribute their expertise in a way that delivers the best possible product updates for our users and our business.
* Nurture the designers you manage to grow professionally and build the skills necessary to be successful members of the product design team.
* Support the design community by contributing to regular design team sessions to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and strengthen the design culture.
We'd really like to hear from you, if...
* You have previous experience in a line management role. Ideally leading several designers across multiple product teams to deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
* You have strong expertise in user-centred design principles, user experience design, interaction design and product strategy.
* You have a proven ability to mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering their growth and development.
* You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
* You’re experienced in driving changes to things like progression frameworks and defining processes for a design function.
* You're a high performer: you connect to our high-performance principles.
* You're mission-driven: you care about positively impacting the lives of millions.
* You’re always collaborating: you place team success over personal success and you enjoy working in an open, collaborative environment.
* You demonstrate responsible ownership: when you see something not working, you'll flag it and be part of the solution.
* You seek continuous improvement: you’re always developing new skills and insights, while exploring ways to do things better.
* You’re mindful of balance: you're conscious of your own health and that of others. You think carefully about how best to focus your efforts, knowing when to push yourself to reach a goal.
