Senior Practitioner Social Worker - Emergency Duty Service
Do you want to support vulnerable adults and strengthen your networks as well as enhancing your skills? If so, join us!
At East Sussex County Council, we have a deep commitment to empowering vulnerable adults. Our aim is to maximise their independence and help them play a full part in the decisions that affect them. Joining Adult Social Care Mental Health Emergency Duty Service is a chance to change your world and others. You will be supported by a team that cares for you just as much as it cares for our community.
You will need to be a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional; you will not have an ongoing caseload as the work involves short term emergency interventions. The team is made up of experienced and skilled senior social workers who are confident working independently and comfortable making risk-based decisions. We offer a comprehensive induction with ongoing support; this consists of regular team meetings and supervision from the teams Practice Manager.
The role requires travelling around the county but there are opportunities to work from home, between call outs, if you live within East Sussex.
In addition to the single salary grade, you will receive additional payments for all unsocial hours and bank holidays worked. A market supplement for being a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), and a further payment per assessment.
Experience we are looking for:
* You will be a qualified AMHP, registered with Social Work England, and have experience working with vulnerable adults and their families.
* Recognition of systemic approaches.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, criminal justice, housing, support for substance and domestic abuse.
* Manage your workload independently.
