We are looking for an Emergency Planning Manager to join the EPRR (Emergency, Preparedness, Resilience and Response) team at NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.
The EPRR team is responsible for working with both health and multi-agency partners to facilitate the coordinated delivery of health resilience in West Yorkshire.
Our EPRR team is part of the Planning and Performance Directorate and works closely with the System Control Centre to provide support, coordination, and advice on resilience.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborative working, can manage competing demands, and has previous experience working in emergency planning or in the NHS.
Main Duties of the Job
You will work with our partners across the West Yorkshire health and care system to strengthen resilience, including hospitals, community and mental health providers, ambulance services, primary care, and local authorities.
NHS West Yorkshire ICB is a member of the West Yorkshire Resilience Forum, and as the Emergency Planning Manager, you will represent the NHS in multi-agency meetings, exercises, and projects.
This role will involve travel across West Yorkshire to attend ICB offices and multi-agency meetings and exercises.

Job Responsibilities
You will:
1. During an incident, advise and support strategic and tactical command levels within the ICB.
2. Respond to unpredictable situations, convening emergency meetings at short notice and managing competing demands.
3. Play a lead role in the annual core standards self-assessment process for EPRR for both the ICB and for the wider health system.
4. Support the ICB on-call manager in preparation for their duties.
5. Promote the development of business continuity within the ICB and work with ICB place service leads to ensure business continuity management systems are in place.
6. Maintain a training portfolio and undertake associated training to ensure that you meet the requirements for the role of EPRR specialist.
7. Support education and training programmes to ensure that ICB staff involved in emergency planning and response are adequately trained.

* Willing to undertake security checks and vetting as required for the role.
* Able to travel to a variety of sites across West Yorkshire. There may be a requirement from time to time to travel to NHSE Regional or National Offices.
Experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience of training and delivery of exercises.
Desirable
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment.

* Understanding of the legislation and requirements specific to EPRR.
* Understanding of the principles and practice of risk management, investigation, and mitigation.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
Desirable
* Qualification in EPRR, such as the HEPRR certificate, award, or diploma (Health Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response).
