about the team
Working from the lululemon London SSC, the Fulfillment Operations Manager, Global Franchise is responsible for overseeing the flows of inbound and outbound shipments from our factories and to lululemon’s franchise partners globally. The manager will successfully work through a matrixed organization model within the global fulfilment team and supervises the fulfillment process through active monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments that run through our distribution centers located in Hong Kong, Singapore and The Netherlands.
The manager will be an active partner and the fulfillment representative supporting the Franchise CoE (center of excellence) team located in our London SSC as well as act as the first point of contact for our (external) franchise partners when it comes to logistics matters. You will work closely with the Merchandise Planning & Operations and Inbound Logistics teams to monitor on-time performance for franchise purchase orders and you will work with multiple teams in global fulfillment, the franchise CoE and technology to allow for close planning & monitoring of the franchise operations.
In this newly developed role you will participate in and lead many new initiatives that will support our franchise expansion plans.
core responsibilities
* Manage the franchise fulfilment operations process, this includes:
* DC invoice validation, submission & support for accounts payable
* DC outbound (including DC transfer) order release management
* Peak season planning & update DC progress for month-end, quarter-end & year-end closing
* Priority PO & outbound order planning for both inbound receiving and outbound support
* Shipper invoice preparation including but not limited to commercial invoices & packing lists
* Partner with Trade Compliance + DC on FTA assessments and required documentation for import/export
* Connect appointed forwarder for pickup arrangement and instruct DC for booking placement
* Manage communication with DC for any adhoc resources or project support
* Prepare and share the forecast to Franchise DC’s
* Support the communication with merchant or DC teams if any rework needed on our products
* Determine potential Value Added Services in the DC (such as palletisation) and associated CPU/billing process
* Responsible to create and lead quarterly and monthly performance reviews with partners. Report out on the performance, communicate any gaps in SLA to key internal stakeholders and our partners and support in developing corrective action plans
* Coordinate between lululemon and franchise partners trade & compliance functions to ensure trade compliance policies, procedures, SOPs, best practices, and audit programs are in alignment with global trade objectives and policies & procedures
* Develop and maintain the supply chain sections in the franchise external operating manual, this includes documenting standard franchise fulfilment operations processes (carton/packing size/detail, standard commercial invoice templates, etc.) and develop a repository
* Document standard franchise fulfilment ways of working with partners (DC process, frequency of deliveries, timing between when an order is raised versus available for collection, freight forwarder notification of readiness, collection, etc.)
* Provide input to the development of performance management metrics including gathering partner feedback on ways to enhance fulfilment model and feeding that into the overarching franchise global fulfilment strategy
* Support with onboarding of any new franchise fulfilment locations/models and represent franchise in Global Fulfilment initiatives
* Anticipate short and long-term requirements by working with internal teams in analysing sales forecasts, trends, and in-transit volumes
* Manage the development of appropriate internal processes that promote processing efficiencies, productivity, and speed to market, lead the creation of a roadmap to support the future operating model for franchise
qualifications
* Business administration, operations management, supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or equivalent training desired
* Minimum 5 years-experience as a manager in distribution & logistics operations
* Experienced in managing sales and operations, account operations management and preferably for a multi-channel retailer or like-minded industry brand
* Experienced in managing day-to-day operational logistics in a fast-paced and fast-growing environment
* Experience managing the onboarding process for franchise or wholesale accounts
* Understanding of cross border compliance documentation
* Clear communications skills to inspire, motivate and provide cross-functional leadership
* Strong IT skills (Microsoft office applications, familiar with WMS software applications and/or wholesale order management systems)
* Sound responsive analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proven organizational and leadership skills are required
* Ability to think “outside of the box,” enjoys challenges and is solutions-oriented
* Capable of traveling on a regular basis between multiple country destinations to support business needs
