Job summary 37.5 hours per week. We are actively seeking a clinically experienced Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) who is enthusiastic about prescribing effectiveness and quality. The post holder will play a crucial part, as part of the organisations Community Mental Health Services Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. The NMP Lead role has recently been acknowledged and recognised for the promotion of multi-disciplinary advanced practice, prescribing competence, quality, and safety. This role is pivotal to community based integrated service design and delivery, through links with the advanced practice development forums and via enhanced networking. T he role will continue to lead a programme of specifically designed CPD, conferences and learning events. This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. Main duties of the job The NMP Lead role is engaged and actively encouraged to share and provide expert prescribing knowledge and to contribute within a variety of Medicines Management related operational and clinical services and groups within the Livewell Southwest, as well as across Devon incorporating the regional and national prescribing agenda. Independent prescribing is one of the few national professionally annotated qualifications, and as such, the postholder will be able to continue to develop expertise build on education and learning services, to identify opportunities for NMPs, facilitate the selection of appropriate candidates for trust sponsored NMP course places and participate in the prescribing and learning agenda linking with local academic course providers and Universities. The NMP Lead role will also be expected to be an active supporter and facilitator of future trainee prescribers along with the expansion of Designated Prescribing Practitioners, assessors, clinical supervisors, within the wider medicines learning environment.
