To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and treatment for service users with complex mental health and physical health needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals. To provide this service within the adults inpatient units in HPFT: o Oak, Swift, Robin and Owl Kingfisher Court, Radlett o Aston Stevenage o Albany Lodge St Albans To hold responsibility for own case load, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular one to one sessions with the line manager/ Professional Lead, formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences and reflective practice. To work alongside the established Senior Physiotherapist working in Older Adults Mental Health inpatient units. To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using specialist knowledge and skills from theoretical and practical experience. To be responsible for supervision, education and assessment of therapy assistants and to oversee the clinical supervision of more junior staff/students. To undertake/lead evidence-based audit and research projects to develop and enhance personal and teams clinical practice within their area; to make recommendations to clinical lead/ head of service for changes to practice by the team; to implement specific changes to practice; to write and/or contribute to service protocols.
