Mail Room Administrator RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 3LXFull Time, Permanent, Mon – Fri, 37 Hours per week Salary £23,858.64 plus benefits
Here at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as an Administrator in our exceptionally busy Post Room, you’ll contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. The job will touch on all walks of station life. You’ll also be part of the wider ‘whole force’ team, with c.5,800 service personnel, c.1,200 contractors and c.300 civil servants on site.
Working alongside the larger Serco Brize Norton team, the Mail Room Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the daily operation of the Station Post Room and mail delivery services.
Working collaboratively and effectively with other staff members in the section, as a team you will be responsible for maintaining great customer service standards, adhering to authorised person procedures and policies as well as complying with contractual requirements as directed by the leadership team.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure the delivery of effective, efficient, “right first time every time” output to our customers that follows the Serco values and behaviours.
- Provide excellent customer service (by telephone, email and in person).
- Ensure that all mail is treated appropriately and in line with local Post Room work instructions and in accordance with JSP 440.
- Assist with the delivery of mail around the Station and cover for the messenger during periods of absence.
- Notify the team leader whenever deficiencies emerge that require their attention in respect of safety, risk, compliance or standards.
- Perform other tasks which are reasonable and relevant to the role for Serco at RAF Brize Norton as directed by the team leader.
What I need to do the role?
- Must be competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package
- Must have a high standard of oral communication skills
- Must possess a UK Driving Licence
- Must be able to pass a colour perception category to enable driving air side
