Year 5 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Start Date: March (Full academic year with potential for extension)
About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is working with a fantastic primary school based in Worthing, seeking an experienced teacher for a Year 5 maternity cover position. The role will start in March and run for the full academic year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
This full-scale teaching role involves taking charge of a Year 5 class, which includes planning exciting, engaging, and fun lessons, marking work, and attending school activities such as meetings and parents' evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for Year 5 students
2. Mark and provide feedback on student work
3. Attend school meetings, parents’ evenings, and extra-curricular activities
4. Ensure a positive and supportive classroom environment
5. Support and cater to the diverse needs of students, including SEN support
Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
2. Experience teaching KS2 (particularly Year 5)
3. A fun and engaging teaching style
4. Strong knowledge of the UK Primary Syllabus
5. Excellent understanding of SEN and experience supporting students with SEN
6. High-level behaviour and classroom management skills
7. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (can assist with this)
8. Recent Safeguarding Training
9. Must have a UK address and the right to work in the UK
