The Practice is moving towards becoming a paper-light environment. The main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to audio type medical correspondence and complete related tasks, and to summarise and Read Code relevant information from patients’ clinical records, hospital correspondence, and other sources into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice protocols.
The holder will also be required to cover/support the other team members which include a reports officer, notes/links officer, coding officer, and scanning officer.
Working Pattern
* Monday to Thursday 09.00 to 17.00
* Friday 09.00 to 16.30
Main Duties/Key Tasks:
1. Extraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into Electronic Patient Record by accurate Read Coding.
2. Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient’s medical history.
3. Typing dictated correspondence, completing related tasks, and liaising with the clinicians from both surgery and other care providers.
4. Auditing data collection standards in the Practice.
5. Filing and retrieving paperwork.
6. Pro-actively initiate data quality improvement projects.
7. Ensure security of data at all times.
8. Liaison with GP with responsibility for QoF.
9. Undertake any other task that may reasonably be requested.

1. Sound knowledge of Windows and MS Office.
