The opportunity
Based at our Sixth Form College, you’ll play a key role in shaping the academic futures of our A Level students. Through thoughtful and engaging lessons, you’ll help our students develop a strong understanding of Chemistry, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you’ll contribute to the delivery of an exceptional A Level Chemistry curriculum. Whether preparing our students for exams or encouraging their curiosity about the subject, your work will help open doors to future opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of our diverse learners. By incorporating a range of teaching strategies and practical experiments, you’ll make Chemistry accessible and relevant, ensuring our students remain engaged and confident throughout their studies.
You’ll also support our students in achieving their full potential by setting clear goals, monitoring their progress, and providing constructive feedback. Beyond classroom teaching, you’ll enhance the curriculum by integrating real-world applications and fostering connections to other subject areas, ensuring our students gain a broader perspective on how Chemistry positively impacts the world.
Alongside academic teaching, you’ll provide guidance and pastoral support, helping our students build their confidence and overcome challenges. You’ll also prepare them for both internal and external examinations, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform to the best of their abilities.
Collaboration is also central to your role, as you will work with other colleagues to share ideas, refine teaching practices, and contribute to maintaining the college’s reputation for high-quality education.

Required
* A teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards a PGCE if you don’t already hold a Level 5 qualification)
* A degree in a relevant subject
* GCSE Maths and English (or an equivalent Level 2 qualification)
* Experience working within an education setting
* Proven ability to deliver learning to a diverse range of learners
* Experience creating and developing learning materials
