Team/Role Overview Operational Risk Assurance teams supports the Global Operational Risk function by defining and maintain Methodologies, Frameworks for undertaking Credible Challenge of 1 Line of Defense (across all business, operational risks categories within Citi). The team additionally oversee the execution of the Challenges undertaken by ORM function and also undertakes Quality Assurance over ORM’s own activities. What you’ll do As an Operational Risk Management Vice President in the Independent Assurance and Quality Assurance team, you will manage challenge methodologies, ensuring alignment with Operational Risk Management's second line of defense. This involves overseeing challenge execution, identifying best practices, and providing guidance on compliance. You'll also educate global ORM on available methodologies and tools, fostering collaboration with risk experts and stakeholders. Your role includes continuous improvement of these methodologies, incorporating feedback and industry changes. Additionally, you will participate in risk-related projects, contributing to the overall effectiveness of risk management within the organization. Responsibilities: Managing a portfolio of challenge methodologies aligned to the activities conducted by Operational Risk Management in their role as second line of defense. These will set the routines, practices, capabilities and minimum requirements used in the performance of independent challenge. Oversee and track the inventory of challenges performed by ORM, ensuring completeness with the roles and responsibilities documented within Operational Risk Policies, Standards and Procedure. Develop, implement, and execute a communication strategy for ORM challenge methodologies, ensuring effective dissemination of updates and best practices to relevant stakeholders. Assist with educating ORM on the existing methodologies and tools available supporting Independent Challenge framework and Quality Assurance programs. Contributing to the improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of ORM challenge activities. Collaborate with ORM coverage teams and Risk Subject Matter Experts to provide guidance on challenge methodologies, facilitate knowledge sharing sessions, and ensure effective communication regarding emerging risks and best practices. This includes regular meetings, joint workshops, and the development of shared resources. Lead the development and implementation of learnings and best practises that align with the challenge methodologies. To include collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of content. Continually assess and update learning materials based on feedback and evolving changes. Coordinate or lead execution of assigned ORM QA activities through the centralized QA operating model. Identify and share best practices gleaned from QA observations with global Operational Risk Management teams. Prepare materials using Microsoft Office to provide key updates on challenge methodologies, to include regular forums. Involvement in various risk and control projects or initiatives led by ORM or other control functions. What we’ll need from you Qualifications: Significant experience in Internal Audit or 2nd Line Testing is required. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level Detailed oriented with analytical skills, stakeholder engagement, data analysis and presentation.
