Within this role you will be required to offer clinical leadership support to team members and the team manager, participate in service development, and review/prescribe medication to Children and Young People.
Preferably an experienced Clinician to work alongside the current leadership team in developing future clinical work and ways of working, offering ongoing prescribing support, and monitoring the safe and effective use of medication.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist with a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification (V300). The position would be with South Durham CAMHS, Acley Centre. The job is well supported by many other CNS's within the team all having responsibility for certain aspects of the overall care provided by this CAMHS Service. We are looking for someone with high motivation and a keen interest in continuing the improvement of our young people's care and treatment.

Job responsibilities
1. Safe and effective prescribing of medication.

5. Recognising safeguarding concerns and effectively communicating with alternative agencies to escalate this appropriately.

Qualification
Essential
* Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD / RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only).
* Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving.
* Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years.
* Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber).
* And have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience, together with evidence of relevant CPD.

* Extensive knowledge of normal child and adolescent development, child and adolescent mental health disorders and knowledge of specialist therapeutic interventions within the CAMHS specialty and Child Protection Procedure/Policy.
