Who You Are You are an experienced social worker with a focus on mental health. You possess strong organizational and communication skills and demonstrate anti-discriminatory practice, promoting the rights of vulnerable adults. You have the ability to collate information and write reports suitable for legal processes such as Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Hearings. You either have experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional / Best Interests Assessor or are eager to obtain the qualifications necessary for these roles, with the support provided. Experience in adult mental health is essential for this role. What the Job Involves The position is part of the Bexley Community Mental Health Teams, including the primary care mental health wellbeing hub, ICMP, and HTT. You will conduct and update risk assessments, working in accordance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act (2005), and Mental Health Act (1983). Responsibilities include assessment, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding as per the Care Act 2014. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, receiving regular line management and clinical supervision to help you grow your expertise in mental health social work. The role involves fulfilling duties as an Approved Mental Health Professional / Best Interests Assessor or progressing toward these qualifications.
