We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Supervisor to join our dedicated team in our Housing Support Service based in Aberdeen. In this role, you’ll be an integral part of our service, providing high-quality support to adults with complex needs, while leading a compassionate and dynamic team committed to making a real difference.
About the Role
As a Supervisor at Sense Scotland, you will take a leading role in guiding a dedicated team of staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to the people we support. Your responsibilities will include providing regular supervision, coaching, and monitoring to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, in line with our core values.
Based in Aberdeen you would be responsible for 2 neighbouring services. Supporting both individuals and their staff teams to reach agreed outcomes and improve independence. You would work a mix of shift work with the supported people and office work in the Ellon area to carry out supervisions, team meetings and rota development. In addition, there is a requirement to cover sleepover shifts paid at £108 per night on top of your basic salary. You will support the people we support with their usual activities such as dance groups, football, bowling, swimming and the occasional holiday abroad while discovering new things for them to try.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure high-quality care and support for the people we support, meeting their individual needs.
Lead by example, offering supervision, coaching, and on-shift training to staff.
Guide staff to deliver a flexible, person-centred service for the people we support and their families.
Manage staffing rotas, adjusting as needed for changes in the people we support or staff requirements.
Oversee the implementation and regular updating of individual support plans.
Maintain accurate records and staff attendance, ensuring compliance with standards.
Support staff in their professional development and ensure they have the skills needed for person-centred care.
About you
You will have significant experience working directly with individuals who have complex care and communication needs as both individuals have a hearing impairment. You’re a natural leader who can motivate and guide colleagues, always striving to deliver person-centred care and set a strong example of best practices in social care.
This role could be perfect for you if:
You hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
You have an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or a qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes).
You are flexible, able to work across a range of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
You possess strong IT and organisational skills to manage office tasks efficiently.
You have a deep understanding and experience of person-centred practice.
You are skilled in coaching and mentoring colleagues to foster their development.
You have exceptional communication skills, especially in conveying complex and sensitive information.
