Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our client based near Cullompton. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that their supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of logistics systems to optimise purchasing strategies and maintain effective supplier relationships.
This role after 3 months will lead to a permanent contract with my client.
Working hours: Monday - Friday 08.00-16.00, this role is all office based; they cannot offer remote/hybrid working.
Pay: £25,000-27,000 per annum. £13.73-14.83 per hour depending on experience.
Duties
1. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and delivery schedules.
2. Manage the procurement of goods and services, ensuring timely delivery to meet operational needs.
3. Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess stock.
4. Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing requirements and provide support as needed.
5. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information using a bespoke CRM.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management is desirable.
2. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favourable terms.
3. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
