The Opportunity
Radar Healthcare's new Software Security Engineer
We are looking for a Software Security Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to design and implement secure solutions, identify vulnerabilities, and mitigate risks.
The ideal candidate has a passion for cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure and software development, with experience in building secure applications and adhering to industry best practices.
What you’ll be doing to make a difference:
Secure Development:
• Integrate security best practices into the SDLC, ensuring secure design, coding, and deployment processes.
• Conduct secure code reviews, static and dynamic application testing (SAST/DAST), and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and implement secure coding standards to prevent common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Work closely with developers to identify and fix security vulnerabilities across applications and systems.
Security Tools and Automation:
• Design and implement automated security tools, scripts, and pipelines to support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Deploy and manage tools for threat detection, intrusion prevention, and application security testing.
• Build security tooling to monitor and respond to emerging threats.
Collaboration and Awareness:
• Partner with the infrastructure team to ensure monitoring and vulnerability detection is prioritized within the cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with software engineers, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure security is prioritized during product and system development.
• Provide security guidance to development teams, ensuring alignment with security policies and standards.
• Train and educate teams on secure development practices, helping to build a security-first culture.
Risk Mitigation and Compliance:
• Proactively identify and mitigate security risks in software products and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR) and regulatory frameworks.
• Support security audits, penetration tests, and incident response processes.
Your journey so far...
• Experience: 5+ years in software development with a strong focus on application security or secure coding practices and a background in cloud infrastructure (Azure)
• Technical Skills:
o Understanding in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C#, JavaScript/Front End Library).
o Hands-on experience with secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and remediation.
o Familiarity with security tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube, or similar.
o Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security testing tools.
• Knowledge:
o Solid understanding of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, CWE).
o Knowledge of encryption techniques, secure authentication mechanisms, and API security.
o Understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
o Knowledge of hacking techniques & tools.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Even better if you…
• Possess certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or CEH.
• Have experience with Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Have experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Have experience with infrastructure as code.
• Are familiar with healthcare security standards (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001).
• Have experience implementing Zero Trust security models and IAM best practices.

Socials – we get together as a full company at least four times per year, plus at least once a quarter in individual teams, too. Not including all the fun activities being planned by our newly formed social committee.
