Job Title: Year 8 Pastoral Support

Job Duties:
1. Provide pastoral support and guidance to Year 8 students
2. Monitor and support students' academic progress and personal development
3. Identify and address any behavioural or welfare concerns
4. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student well-being
5. Organise and facilitate mentoring and support programmes for students
6. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in a pastoral care or support role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Education:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in education or social care
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of child development and welfare issues
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training or qualifications in pastoral care or counselling
- Safeguarding and child protection training
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily within a school environment
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work required
- May involve dealing with challenging behaviour and emotional situations
- Temporary position with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
