JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: Plant Mechanic Department / Service: ERF Hours: 37 Level: G05 Location: Blackmarsh Rd, Mochdre Job Evaluation Number: SL1747 Responsible to: Senior Transport Officer (Fleet) Responsible For: (Staff) N/A Job Purpose: To ensure the efficient and effective repair, servicing and maintenance of the fleet vehicles/plant and equipment, capable of responding to all service and management requirements, whilst ensuring operational compliance. Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific 1. To maintain service and repair the fleet vehicles/plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, Health and Safety requirements and Ministry of Transport Regulations. 2. Maintain all documentation requirements and electronic systems. 3. Ensure that the Workshops, surrounding areas and all its facilities are maintained in a clean safe condition, ensuring compliance with health and Safety standards and Industry Regulations. 4. Ensure that all vehicles, plant and operational equipment are maintained in a timely manner to ensure best practice. 5. Liaise with service users to ensure maximisation of service delivery and meet all deadlines. 6. The ability to work both as part of a team and under own initiative. 7. Assess accident damage to vehicles/plant/equipment, advising on method of repair where appropriate. 8. Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be requested 9. To work within all environments to ensure service delivery. Duties and Responsibilities – Corporate 1. To be responsible for establishing good working relationships both internally and externally. 2.
