Your new role
Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor
Eastleigh
18-month FTC
Up to £52,173
The Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for the Supervision of the Maintenance and Facilities function at the Arlington Manufacturing Site.
* Champion and maintain a proactive Health, Safety and Environmental culture.
* Conduct programmed Daily/Weekly/Periodic checks/arranging reactive repairs for site plant and equipment.
* Fixed plant – all plant equipment available and maintained.
* Investigate and rectify accordingly any reports of faults/breakdowns to plant and site infrastructure in conjunction with the landlords.
* Conduct general maintenance of the site/office/buildings and their contents.
* Perform inspections and planned/reactive maintenance through third parties of a mechanical and electrical nature.
* Act as the site point of contact for Arlington Fleet Services (Landlords).
* Ensure all defects are raised and appropriately managed for site.
* Plan and monitor planned and reactive maintenance on all production equipment.
* Management of the Calibration process and aid Stores function as required.
* Raise Purchase Requisitions within SAP for Maintenance activities and action the goods receipt of received products and services in a timely manner.
* Own the Defects Register ensuring tasks are prioritised and closed out in a timely fashion using either internal, or external labour.
* Maintain the Statutory Compliance Register and actively manage compliance to all applicable legislation associated with Maintenance and Facilities.
* Actively interrogate schedules to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect any lifecycle or best practice changes.
* Maintain site Statutory and Mandatory legal compliance ensuring risks are suitably identified and managed.
* Supervise and monitor external contractors, ensuring that they are carrying out work safely and to the correct standards.
* Issue Work/Access Permits and maintain the permit register ensuring that all H&S paperwork and controls are in place.
* Continue to champion an ongoing positive working environment, ensuring it is maintained in line with corporate values.
* Align and maintain all Facilities processes and procedures to NAY.
* Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise which include out of hours periods.
* Deputise for the maintenance and facilities manager in their absence as well as undertaking delegated authority on specific tasks as directed by the maintenance and facilities manager.
* Conduct feasibility studies – take a stakeholder’s concept, frame, then engage contractors to deliver a solution that meets the stakeholders’ expectations, on time and in budget.
* Write CAPEX documents and seek approval through the CAPEX process.
* Liaise with and keep informed the key stakeholders within the business.
* Ensure critical spares are defined and documented, safety stock levels considered, and spares replenished in a timely manner. Ensure all new equipment is analysed to establish the critical spares required and then add to the critical spares register.
About you
* Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of SAP Planned Maintenance or other CMMS systems.
* Have an in-depth knowledge of statutory legislation associated with Maintenance & Facilities.
* Project Management experience.
* Previous contractor management experience.
* Demonstrate ongoing improvements in Planned, Reactive and Statutory maintenance regimes.
* Understand and articulate the requirements of managing external Contractors (RAMS, Permit to Work Process, Documentation and Competencies etc.).
* Understanding Business Risk and how to mitigate or reduce this.
Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 (Mechanical/Electrical) - desirable.
* Time served apprenticeship (Mechanical or Electrical) or relevant demonstrable Facilities Management experience.
* IOSH - Managing Safely.
