What skills and experience we're looking for
Our school is seeking a Co-opted Governor to join our Governing Body with immediate effect. Being a school governor is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance to make a real difference to young people, give something back to your local community and use and develop your skills in a board-level environment. We are especially looking for potential Governors who have any background or experience of working in Finance, Human Resources or Operational Management but we welcome all applications. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and able to use your own initiative, organised and self-motivated and keen to work as part of a supportive Governing body team.
What the school offers its staff
As a governor, you will be able to use your own experience of education and life beyond school to inform conversations, develop and utilise your skills in a board-level environment and make a valuable contribution to education and your community. All Governors are required to support and challenge the school so that it continues to improve for pupils and staff and bring your unique experiences, perspectives and insights into decision-making in the interests of the school community.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment. Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance. Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant): childcare disqualification, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), medical, online and social media, prohibition from teaching, right to work, satisfactory references, and suitability to work with children. You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
