Description The Opportunity: The School of Engineering’s wet laboratories hold an inventory of collectively over 3,000 chemicals, which periodically must be catalogued and rationalised. The School of Engineering is seeking to appoint a motivated and self-driven intern to compile the School’s chemical inventory for 2025 and coordinate disposal of chemicals that are no longer required. This internship offers the chance for the successful candidate to gain valuable experience supporting the safe and sustainable management of laboratories, working in labs conducting cutting-edge academic research. They will also gain understanding of the role Health & Safety culture plays in research laboratories, in particular the importance of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). Employ.ed on Campus internships are ONLY open to 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), based entirely on-campus. The salary for this post is £23,114 to £25,148 per annum and is available on a fixed term basis for 10 weeks.
