Job Overview
Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week
The NHS has developed several sub-acute services based on guidance from the NHS Long Term Plan (2019) and NHS Five Year Forward View (2014). These initiatives aim to provide care closer to home, alleviating pressure on emergency departments. The 'Hospital at Home' service in Cheshire West will implement virtual wards, allowing patients to receive care at home safely.
Main Duties of the Job
We seek a hard-working, enthusiastic, and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead our OPAT service and support innovative care delivery. Candidates do not need to hold full qualifications as this is a training post under NHS Terms and Conditions of Service. Candidates should have a good general level of education and a commitment to completing an 18-month training program to progress to a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist.

* Clinical diagnostics and assessment (9 months)
* Non-medical prescribing (6 months)
Competencies
* Service lead for Insertion and management of CVADs (6 months)

Person Specification
Qualifications
* RN/RSCN Diploma or Degree
* NMC Registered
* Level 7 masters or equivalent study
* V300 Non-medical prescribing (Level 7)
* Relevant specialty-related qualification/module (Insertion of CVADs, IV access)
Knowledge and Experience
* Specialty knowledge and experience
* Basic knowledge of financial management within the clinical setting
* Knowledge of professional and NHS issues
* CNS mentorship and development
Skills and Abilities
* Able to manage own workload and coordinate that of others
* Basic IT skills in word processing/Hospital Systems
* Able to present written information logically
* Presentation/teaching skills
