Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People and Culture Officer with a strong focus on recruitment. In this 5 month contract role, you will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job advertisements and interviews to onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for new employees. You will also maintain accurate employee records, liaise with payroll, and support changes to employment conditions.
Beyond recruitment, you will assist with training and development, performance management, and policy updates while fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Please note that this position is based in Derby with a base salary of $69,943 plus generous allowances (up to $15,104), superannuation (11% & up-to 7% Council matching), and 5 weeks annual leave. Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in Human Resource management practices (desired but not essential); including recruitment, employment, induction, performance reviews, training, and development.
* Experience providing quality and timely administration support.
* Evidence of high-level prioritization and time management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Well-developed computer skills including experience with customized systems and intermediate Microsoft Office applications in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Highly developed (verbal and written) communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to deal with difficult and sensitive issues.
