JOB PURPOSE
Maintaining balance sheet, bank, debtors and creditors reconciliations and act as a support for key departmental roles. Inventory control and business KPI variance analysis. Ensure compliance and integrity of financial data.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support the Financial Controller with the following:
2. Preparing periodic financial statements, including departmental analysis, forecasts, budgets, cash analysis, variance analysis and commentaries
3. Inventory reconciliations, raw materials, finished goods & WIP
4. Intercompany reconciliations
5. Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions. This will include preparation work on acquisition requests (Capex)
6. Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget (monitoring)
7. Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions (OPEX/CAPEX)
8. Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
9. Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
10. Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
11. Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
12. Ensuring compliance with SOX (including Blackline monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations)
13. Internal and External Audits
14. Assist and cover other roles within the Finance department where necessary (AP,AR, payroll & bank)
TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALS
1. Part Qualified/Newly Qualified CIMA/ACCA or similar (QBE Considered)
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience at a management accountant level
3. Payroll Experience – Desired but not essential
4. Excellent excel skills, Outlook & Word
5. In depth finance experience – ideally in Manufacturing or FMCG
6. High attention to detail
7. Knowledge of SOX - extremely beneficial but not essential
8. Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
1. Excellent communication skills essential, ability to give clear written and verbal instructions, clearly understand and explain technical and commercial issues to customers and have a good understanding of procedures and processes.
2. Highly responsible, reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic.
