Do you have what it takes to motivate and support our Volunteer Police Cadets to fulfil their potential? We need adult volunteer leaders to support our cadet programme. Our cadet units provide an environment for young people (aged 13 – 17) where they can learn about roles within policing, support their community and develop valuable life skills such as communication and problem solving in a fun and safe environment. You don’t need knowledge of policing. We will provide training and resources and our units are supported by their local policing teams. The Volunteer Police Cadets meet on Thursday evenings during term time 19:00 to 21:00 hours at Weston College, Knightstone Road, Weston super Mare, BS23 2AL Your Role Would Be To Deliver fun weekly interactive sessions. Support cadets when they attend community events, visits to specialist police teams and when they support policing activities. Be a positive adult role model for young people. Create a safe and inclusive environment where all cadets are welcomed and able to share any concerns. Support the Unit Leader with planning and preparation for weekly sessions (and other activities which sometimes take place at weekends). You Will Receive Full uniform including everything you need for outdoor activities in all weathers. Training and support to develop your skills. A unique insight into modern policing practice. Applicants must be available for their assessment at Weston College, Knightstone Road the date is to be confirmed Eligibility You must be 18 years of age to apply. You are unable to apply if you have been a Police Cadet within the last 6 months. All applicants will be subject to the Force Vetting Policy and will be required to undertake and maintain the appropriate level of safeguarding training for the role. The role you have applied for requires you to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) every three years.
