Job Overview
The role of the post holder is to support the Directorate Manager-Specialist Palliative Care in the management and delivery of high-quality, clinically effective, and cost-efficient services within the Directorate. The post holder will have delegated management responsibilities for the service in the absence of the Directorate Manager.
The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and take responsibility for their own workload. They will provide advice and guidance to ensure that the directorate provides effective planning, performance development, and project management work into the Division.
The post holder will support the Directorate Manager in all aspects of business and operational service management and take the lead on specific projects as defined by the Directorate Manager, including presenting data to the Divisional Management Team and being able to articulate their findings and identify improvements, following through with timescales for delivery.
The post holder will provide day-to-day management of the administrative staff working within the Directorates.
The post holder will be required to promptly investigate and formulate responses for formal and informal complaints on behalf of the Directorate.
The base of the post holder will be agreed, but there will be a requirement to work at other sites within the Health Board as and when required.

The post holder will provide day-to-day management of the administrative and secretarial staff working within the Directorates across the sites.

Education
Essential criteria
* Degree and a Recognised Management/Leadership postgraduate diploma level qualification or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
