Job Description
* Responsible for delivering and collecting customer’s products, meeting both the Company and our customers Service Level Agreements. Ensuring all work undertaken is done so in line with current driver’s hours, Tachograph and working time directive legislation.
* Providing high standard of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, always ensuring compliance with their site rules and regulations.
* Liaising with the Transport Operations desk to make them aware of any potential difficulties, delays or any variations from original brief.
* Ensuring that the vehicle is always driven with the utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians, and the local environments through which you travel.
* To accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer.
* Ensuring all documentation is checked against consignment, reporting any issues or differences.
* To strive to ensure the punctual collection and delivery of all loads
* Always ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load whilst on duty at all times and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Operations team as soon as identified.
* Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using manual or mechanical lifting equipment where authorised and trained to do so.
* Flexible with shift starting and finishing times.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle whilst on duty, and leaving the vehicle in clean condition, reporting any defects immediately.
* To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Depot Management
Qualifications
* Driving Licence – full, clean C+E
* Newly qualified HGV Driver subject to assessment and agreed training plan
* Previous experience of working within a FMCG environment
* Basic fridge operation knowledge: start, stop, clear faults
* Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
* Able to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
