About the role
Yooralla has a vacancy in the North (Broadmeadows) for a passionate, positive relationship builder, with experience working with a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model to join our team as a permanent full-time or part-time Paediatric Occupational Therapist. This fulfilling role will provide best practice, evidence-based occupational therapy services across the scope of practice to children and young people with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
Your working days may involve:
* delivering therapy in children and young people's homes, educational settings or in the community; aimed at maximising a person’s functional skills and participation as well as promoting physical health and wellbeing
* working part of an interdisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists and Psychologists
* providing indirect client service/family coordination to support client goals.
About You
You’ll be an established and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, good interpersonal skills, and ability to engage people with a disability, motivate them and build their capability. You’ll have an ability to work in partnership with children and young people with a disability to set and achieve goals, and to work collaboratively with the person’s supports, including their families.
* experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model
* the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
* a willingness to improve on your clinical practice – including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you’re not familiar with
* care for the work you do and for the people you work with
* competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems
* good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapy), and
* an Australian driver’s licence and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across Northern Melbourne region, as required
