The Head of Economics and Business will be a key role in ensuring that we build a successful academic Sixth Form which achieves the very best outcomes and destinations for our students.
The primary purpose of the Economics Head of Department is to ensure that the standard of teaching and learning is of the highest quality for all students so that they are able to achieve to the best of their ability and make exceptional progress. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to set up the Economics A Level course in a brand new Sixth Form opening in September 2025. They will also lead on GCSE Business Studies with the opportunity to also deliver A Level Business Studies open for a suitably qualified candidate.
Heads of department are expected to secure high standards of learning and achievement for all students through the planning and delivery of excellent teaching. They should plan, teach and assess to ensure that all students achieve in line with or better than their value added estimates. It is also essential that they give active support to the vision and ethos of Wren Academy.
The Wren Academies Trust is sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (Church of England) and Berkhamsted School. Having established an excellent first academy in the London Borough of Barnet, we have grown to a full secondary school and we are in the process of planning for the opening of the Sixth Form in September 2025.
