Job summary
You have the expertise to deliver the foundation principles of mechanical engineering within a dynamic and inclusive training environment. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team at the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) as a Senior Instructional Officer (SIO).
This role involves developing training programs designed to transform RAF personnel into competent and inspired mechanical technicians. As an SIO, you will be responsible for delivering training and lessons, producing lesson plans and supporting course materials, and participating in internal and external evaluation audits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering training and lessons to Military students
* Producing lesson plans and supporting course materials
* Participating in internal and external evaluation audits
* Ensuring student conduct, punctuality, discipline, and dress standards meet required standards
* Integrating Literacy and Numeracy into lessons
* Ensuring student safety and compliance with fire, health, and safety precautions
* Making continuous improvements to the School's outputs
Requirements:
* Recognised experience and background in mechanical engineering (e.g., vehicle workshops)
* Recently qualified individuals with no experience are encouraged to apply
* Desirable: Experience in a military engineering environment
* Desirable: Familiarity with mechanical engineering management practices and trade policy
* Desirable: Experience in delivery of training
