We are looking for a Site Facilities Officer to join us and ensure the smooth operation of our ten Gypsy and Traveller sites, as well as residences for refugees.
Salary: £28,624 to £31,067 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Location: Your base location will be County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ, and you will be required to regularly travel to various sites across the county.
Interview Date: Week commencing 03 March 2025
This role is mobile in nature, covering a broad area, and you will be expected to travel regularly between sites throughout West Sussex. A vehicle will be provided for this purpose.
About the job:
In this role, you will work across West Sussex to provide practical support to various teams, enabling them to deliver high-quality service to our tenants and clients, including Gypsy and Travellers and resettled refugees.
Any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:
1. Being the essential contact point for the sites, taking on the important responsibility of undertaking or overseeing repairs and maintenance, managing, and upholding tenancy agreements, and engaging in regular communication with tenants and customers.
2. Offering valuable advice and assistance or connecting them to other vital community services, coordinating arrivals and departures-including utilities and meter readings-and diligently maintaining accurate written and financial records.
3. The role is physically active, requiring regular walking inspections, and carrying out other physical work such as green space maintenance, minor repairs, waste clearance, boundary maintenance, etc., and to work outside in inclement weather.

3. Personal resilience, tenacity, and empathy when managing sometimes challenging and demanding behaviours from others.
4. Experience demonstrating confidence and good judgment in dealing with challenging situations.
5. A full and current UK driving licence.
