The Governors are looking to recruit a well-motivated, enthusiastic, and resourceful Family Support Worker with previous experience of delivering effective and dynamic support to both children and families in the primary setting. The role is wide ranging working across both the Infant and Junior schools and will include such things as improving attendance, working with outside agencies, signposting families, making referrals, attending meetings, home visits, co-ordinating Families First (Early Help) support, running sessions for parents and supporting children in school to overcome barriers to learning. You will be one of the trained DSLs in school. Candidates must have relevant qualifications, have excellent communication skills to develop effective relationships with both children and families and be able to work within appropriate professional boundaries. What we are looking for:- • Level 3 in child care, social care or family support work or equivalent qualification is desirable • Ability to engage with parents/care giver on a one to one basis • An awareness of Safeguarding and Child protection Issues • Able to work independently with minimal supervision • An understanding and knowledge of child attachment • Previous demonstrable experience of working directly with children on both a one-to-one and group basis • The role requires travel to homes, therefore driving is an essential part of the role. It is essential that candidates have use of their own vehicle which has suitable business insurance and a full driving licence. Travel expenses to carry out the role are provided.
