The post holder will be responsible for ensuring appropriate support is available to ensure a seamless and efficient service. The role includes managerial and planning responsibilities. The post holder will be required to deputise for the DGM and attend weekly management weeks as required. The post holder will support the DGM in the resolution of financial matters within the department. The post holder is key to ensuring this service is continuously reviewed and monitored effectively in order to consistently meet its obligations to the Trust and the patients it treats.
The Service Manager will be responsible for the operational management and the effective and efficient delivery of a group of services in Paediatrics, in support of the General Manager (GM), Deputy General Managers (DGM), Care Group Leads, and Heads of Nursing ensuring effective co-ordination and management of budgets and agreed national or local performance objectives and contracts.
The Service Manager will manage the Assistant Service Managers, and other senior administrative staff and will work in partnership with the Matron, Ward Managers, Care Group Leader, medical staff and other staff within the Care Groups

The successful candidate will work closely with the two other Service Managers in the Directorate ensure the service is covered.
