Site Agent - Rail / Civil Engineering
Location: Swanley, South East
Site Based: Basildon Station (initial project)
Business Unit Overview:
Join a fast-paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works across various sectors, with a strong focus on rail infrastructure projects. Our portfolio includes bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, and tunnels. We cater to both one-off tendered projects and long-term framework agreements, collaborating with key clients for both asset management and infrastructure projects.
Current Contracts:
Our existing contracts include C2C infrastructure projects and aviation frameworks. Typical works involve bridge reconstruction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all), and flood repair and alleviation.
The Role:
As a Site Agent, you will oversee the daily management of construction and civil engineering activities for rail infrastructure projects. The successful candidate must hold experience of heavy piling works associated with major civils schemes. Day to day, your responsibilities will include:
* Contract Execution: Ensure adherence to applicable legislation, contract terms and conditions, health and safety plans, work package plans, and quality/environmental plans.
* Budget Management: Deliver the project within the designated programme and budget while managing site staff and surveyor interactions to avoid exceeding tender allowances.
* Progress Monitoring: Continuously monitor contract progress to meet objectives and facilitate contractual changes in collaboration with the site team.
* Reporting: Provide formal updates on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Previous experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a rail or civil engineering environment, preferably with Access for All works or similar station infrastructure/upgrade projects.
* Degree/HNC/HND in civil engineering or equivalent technical engineering experience.
* Experience as a Sub Agent or Site Agent within a rail or civil engineering contracting environment.
* Heavy piling experience is essential.
