* We are Looking for enthusiastic band 5 nurse (part time/ permanent) to join our friendly team in Endoscopy at St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
* The unit has an international reputation for providing best practice and is one of the three National Endoscopy training centres.
* The Southwest London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre has been based in the department since November 2006.
* You will be trained in admission, assisting with procedure, recovery and discharge for patients having endoscopic procedures such as OGD, Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, ERCP and EUS.
* You will gain skills in cannulation, recovering GA's and sedation, giving advice post procedure and obtaining knowledge on different endoscopic procedures carried out in the department.
* Providing excellent nursing care on a regular basis.
* Taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the ward or department.
* Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
* Participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures and providing technical assistance during such procedures.
Main duties of the job
* St. George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Endoscopy Unit is one of the three National Endoscopy Training Centres and houses the SW London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.
* Comprises of six procedure rooms, providing facilities for both in-patient and out-patient investigations.
* The unit offers a wide range of endoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
* The team is staffed by team of experienced endoscopy nurses, the nursing staff working in close collaboration with gastroenterologists and hepatologists.
* All the staff are committed to ensuring that the highest standard of clinical care is delivered.
* The unit provides a range of educational and training programmes in endoscopy, available to both medical and nursing staff accredited with JAG and National Endoscopy Training programme.

Person Specification
Professional and clinical qualification experience
* Minimum of 12 months post registration experience in acute setting
* Knowledge of GI and respiratory diseases
* NURB 280/360 or ENB 906 equivalent
* Enthusiastic/willingness to lead and motivate staff
Organisational Management
* Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate, nursing care needs of individual
* Computer literate, willingness to lead and motivate staff
General/ personal
* Motivated and demonstrates/enthusiasm for the speciality
