Full-time Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker Post
We are looking for an enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team of nurses and Doctors in the Dermatology Outpatients Department. This is a busy department that sees in excess of 50,000 outpatients and day cases, with a wide range of dermatology conditions.
As a team we endeavour to help staff learn and develop their knowledge and skills so as to enable individuals to feel confident in their role and achieve job satisfaction. We work in a friendly team-orientated environment and have good working relationships with multidisciplinary team members.
Working hours will be 37.5 hrs per week and will be in line with service needs between 8am to 6pm on a Monday to Friday basis, with opportunities to work at weekends. We currently do not work bank holidays or night duty and days off are allocated on a flexible basis.
Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided however an interest in the skin and skin conditions is essential. The applicant must enjoy working within a team, have a sympathetic, caring nature and sound communication skills.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in patient care by assisting clinicians in Dermatology clinics and our day case procedure suite. Duties include ensuring patient comfort and alleviating patient anxiety, undertaking patient observations, assessment and investigations, communication with patients and their relatives, assisting surgeons in our procedure suite as well as administrative tasks.
