An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Neonatal Nurse Educator Band 6 /06.WTE to join our dynamic Neonatal Services Team. We are a busy, local neonatal unit, admitting around 450 babies per year.
Unit Details: 27 cots, Level Two Local Neonatal Unit including 3 intensive care cots, 4 high dependency cots, 15 special care cots, and a 5 cot transitional care unit.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Matron, Ward Manager and Clinical Governance Lead, utilising their clinical, teaching and development skills to support and facilitate ongoing education, training, and practice development for the Neonatal, Transitional Care and the Outreach Team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work within the Professional Development and Education Unit (PDEU), in accordance with the team and wider Trust values.
This role will support and facilitate the non-medical workforce in clinical and non-clinical areas to identify learning and development opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of neonatal care through education and career development opportunities.
The candidate will also provide education and training to multidisciplinary team staff and assist in the delivery of training programmes for Trainee Nursing Associates, Nursing Associates, Student Nurses, Registered Nurses and other non-registered workforce to induct and develop their skills, knowledge and confidence.
They will support and facilitate staff in clinical areas to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care. This will include working alongside any learner within the clinical environment to achieve competence and confidence.

Job responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
The post holder will support and facilitate staff in clinical areas to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving standards of patient care.
In liaison with the Assistant Director of Nursing, Matrons and Children’s Professional Development and Education Team, promote a quality service using research and evidence-based practice including the setting, monitoring and auditing of clinical standards.
Work with the Children’s Professional Development and Education team to ensure that all non-medical professionals have the best learning experience possible.
