Complex Liability Utilities Adjuster - South
The Role:
With one of the largest teams of liability experts in the world, Sedgwick supports and resolves property, general, auto, product and professional liability claims, and helps our clients maintain brand protection in times of crisis.
We now have an excellent opportunity for a Complex Liability Utilities Adjuster covering either the Greater London, South, or Midlands area of England .
Utilities is an exciting and growing sector of the Sedgwick’s liability business and, reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be home based, but will work within a team, undertaking visits, dealing with your own claims, working on ongoing and new major, multi-party incidents and being on the out of hours rotas. The work mainly involves responding to burst water mains, but can also include fires, electrical failures or sewage escape, often involving multiple claimants.
The position will also enable potential development as a Complex Liability Adjuster.
Due to the unpredictable and urgent nature of the work, you will need to be highly motivated, flexible in your approach, with the ability to handle stressful situations. You will need a clean driving licence as travel is required.
Responsibilities and contributions
1. Working in a team involved in handling claims for utility companies
2. Owning your case load and investigating claims allocated to you
3. Being part of a team providing 24/7 coverage via a rota
4. Coordination, data capture and communications on major incidents involving multiple parties
5. Using spread sheets, PowerPoint, TEAMS and other technology to share data and give transparency to clients
Knowledge and experience
6. Technical competence on property claims working towards Cert CILA preferred.
7. Technical understanding of key liability concepts, such as tort, statute etc
8. Use of Microsoft packages
9. Experience of working as part of a team
10. Experience of multi-party incident handling preferred
