We're looking for fire engineers to enhance the team structure within the Ireland region.
A small but quickly growing company, we've made it our mission to ensure great benefits come as standard when you work with us.
We're proud to be 100% remote working, so you can work from just about anywhere in the UK and Ireland without a commute (occasional travel may be required). You are also welcome to use any of our satellite offices if you wish.
We're flexible too; if you need to nip to a dentist appointment or pick up the kids, we'll support you. We offer generous holidays: 27 days + bank holidays + the period between Christmas and New Year. Wellbeing is important to us, so you have access to confidential 24/7 counselling, either over the phone or in person.
Other benefits include:
* Annual bonus (at manager's discretion)
* Electric car scheme
Not to mention mentoring for everyone, to ensure you’re supported, challenged, and encouraged in your work. Of course, we offer a competitive salary too. We’re always looking to see how we can do better to make sure our team is happy and healthy so by the time you join us, we could have more benefits to share with you too.
The Role
Fire Engineers manage and deliver fire engineering projects to clients. You'll present findings through reports and also peer review reports from other members of the technical team, playing a vital part in the technical side of the business.
You will provide fire engineering input as part of a collaborative team on projects locally, nationally, and internationally. You will be expected to implement and investigate appropriate legislation and design guidance for use on your projects while learning to understand the total fire engineering concept: from the client brief through to construction and operation. You will be expected to receive and manage various tasks delegated to you by your Line Manager and take a lead role in project management responsibilities on projects and research initiatives while learning about business development and building a network of colleagues both internally and externally.
It is anticipated that you will work to raise the commercial profile of the Fire Engineering practice, both internally and externally, by promoting the PartB innovative approach and excellent level of delivery and client care.
You will have a minimum of a degree in a fire engineering discipline with ideally 2 years' fire engineering design experience within a reputable UK-based fire engineering consultancy. A comprehensive understanding and the ability to competently demonstrate the previous application of UK fire design guidance/codes is essential.
You need to be a confident, strong communicator with the ability to make decisions as you will not only be dealing with clients on a daily basis, but other construction professionals, colleagues, and peers via all modes of communication, including phone and video conferencing, email, and in person.
