British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for exceptional Boating Officers to join our teams based in Antarctica and on South Georgia. BAS enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions, employing experts to support science and maintain safety. Working at BAS is rewarding. At King Edward Point, Boating Officers lead operations supporting the Government of South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands. Responsibilities include: Day-to-day management of the boating fleet Training other station staff as boat operators/crew Operation of small boats for scientific support Safety advisement to the Station Leader Annual station boating report provision Requirements: RYA Powerboat Instructor qualification Experience in small boat maintenance Ability to work unsupervised Excellent VHF radio skills Please download job description for more details.
