Scope of Work: Workshop & Service Technician
To undertake service, repair, and refurbishment of pumps and associated equipment. To restore it to optimal condition.
Build and configure new pumps received directly from manufacturers, ensuring they are fully tested.
From time to time you will also be required to visit customer’s sites to assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, on-site repairs, servicing and customer training.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble/disassemble new pumps and equipment.
* Fabricate components for new builds and repairs.
* Perform in-house pump repairs to OEM specs.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site and in-house.
* Offer on-site service, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and repairs (including occasional overnight stays).
* Assist in developing customer training on product use and maintenance.
* Support the development and review of QA and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Skills, Experience & Attributes:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience + time-served technician or NVQ L3 foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
* Strong hands-on skills with a logical, solution-focused approach to problems.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
* Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings.
* Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and customer-service focused.
* Detail-oriented with a methodical, organised approach to tasks.
* Adaptable, flexible, and enthusiastic about change.
* Approachable with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
* In-depth knowledge of pumps and pump systems.
* Experience operating welding, milling, lathe, grinding, and drilling equipment.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
* Basic electrical knowledge.
* Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Other Requirements:
* Full, clean driving licence with access to own transport.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Over 25 years old due to vehicle insurance requirements.
