Stoke on Trent Bereavement Care Service are looking for a highly motivated Cemetery Operative with a background in grounds maintenance provision.
The successful candidate will be responsible for high standards of grounds maintenance in the city cemeteries.
Duties will include:
1. grave excavation
2. preparation and backfilling
3. general grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting
4. hedge management
5. ornamental planting
6. plant and shrub care
Normal working hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm and Friday 8am - 3.30pm with the potential for overtime beyond these hours.
The successful candidate will also be expected to provide on call cover for the Saturday same day burial service.
A full driving licence is required, experience of a similar position and competency in the use of gardening machinery.
